We don’t want animal sacrifices! We look forward to your cooperation!
The three organizations, the Japan Association for the Abolition of Animal Testing (JAVA), the Animal Rights Center (ARC), and PEACE, have established the Campaign for No Sacrifice for Beauty, and have been calling for the abolition of animal testing by domestic cosmetics manufacturers. As a result, many cosmetics manufacturers, including major cosmetics companies, have been calling for an end to animal testing. As a result, many cosmetics manufacturers, including major companies, have now abolished animal testing. However, a legal ban is inevitably needed to make all cosmetics sold in Japan “cruelty-free. The EU achieved a complete ban on animal testing of cosmetics in 2013. Today, the number of countries that ban animal testing of cosmetics in some form or another has spread to 45 countries around the world. And now, in the Japanese Diet, a “Working Team for the Abolition of Animal Testing for Cosmetics” has been established within the “Diet Members Caucus for Animal Welfare” to discuss the issue. We support this movement in the Diet and have started a petition to the Speakers of the House of Representatives and the House of Councillors in order to realize a legal ban in Japan. Please help us spread this petition to as many people as possible.
This petition requests two things
- Please make a law prohibiting animal testing for cosmetics in Japan.
- After the effective date of that law, cosmetics that have been tested on animals with respect to raw materials and products should also be prohibited from being sold in Japan.
This will result in a ban not only on cosmetics manufactured domestically, but also on imported products.
I don’t want to buy cosmetics from manufacturers who test on animals.”
“I want to be sure that the ingredients are not tested on animals.”
“I can’t tell if a product is tested on animals or not in the store.
The shortest way to resolve these feelings and eliminate animal sacrifice is to prohibit it by law.
