A list below shows dolphins that died from 2018 through Sept 27th 2019. Many of these individuals were born to breed, and died within three years after they were born, except for one skunk dolphin. This sinful act has been repeated in the history of aquariums. Sadly, these wild dolphins have had to lose their calves over and over. The breeding practice takes place not for the dolphins, but rather for humans for their entertainment and profit. A few of them survive, and live a long time, but most of them die.Dolphins live in groups of hundreds, sometimes even thousands. They raise their calves together, swim around the vast ocean, do deep dives, explore, and support each other to live socially. They cannot pursue to behave as so in a shallow concrete pool where they are sometimes forced to work.Aquariums shamelessly attempt to capture wild dolphins even though it’s not environmental. They even go around the Japanese Association of Zoos and Aquariums because so many dolphins die in the aquariums. We are no longer living in a time when sentient and social animals like dolphins who are supposed to live in the wild are used for the entertainment business. Take a close look at the list to imagine agony, sorrow, and hopelessness for these individual dolphins.1) Atlantic bottlenose dolphin at Enoshima Aquarium, Jan 9th 2018 “Miru” sudden death in the morning of 6th (3 years old, female, Father Paru/Mother Myu) Breeding2) Atlantic bottlenose dolphin at Asamushi Aquarium, April 21st 2018 “Mirai” death after being sick for a while in April (estimated age 13 years old, male, transported on 20th Dec 2008) Captured in wild3) Risso’s dolphin at Taiji-cho Whale Museum, May 22nd 2018 “Neal” (infant, female) * 17 dolphins died from April 2017 to April 2018 at the same museum Breeding4) False killer whale at Enoshima Aquarium, May 27th 2018 “Sailor” died after being sick Captured in wild5) Commerson’s dolphin at Yokohama Hakkeijima Sea Paradise, June 26th 2018 “Sky” died 6 days after he lost his appetite (male, was born on 15th June 2013 in Toba Aquarium) Breeding6) Atlantic bottlenose dolphin at Joetsu Aquarium Umigatari, July 12th 2018 “Sasha” Sepsis resulted from community-acquired pneumonia.
