Asking Companies to Work on Animal Welfare

We are submitting these petitions to companies that use animal-derived ingredients.

We are also explaining the comapanies about animal welfare, and also giving them suggestions of what they can do to improve animal welfare as a company.

Companies to which we submitted petitions

Ryohin Keikaku Co.,Ltd.
They started working on animal issues comparatively early than other companies in Japan. They stopped using fur and wool which was produced with mulesing. They also run cafes and they are trying to use cage-free eggs as much as they can. We asked them for further comittment for animal welfare.

NISSIN FOODS HOLDINGS CO., LTD.
Animal Rights Center asked them to sell vegan cup noodles 10 years ago. This time it was revealed that they are selling vegan cup noodle and vegan packed noodles in America! Sadly we cannot get those noodles in Japan, so we told them it will be great if they start selling them also in Japan.
About animal welfare, they said they will check if their chicken seasoning are coming from slaughterhouses where hens are left for a long time without water and food in too tiny containeres. 
Nippon Suisan Kaisha, Ltd.
Becasue of the type of the company, they are putting more priority on fish and resource, they said they will also think about animal welfare.

They said they will talk to people who are working on procurement. They also said that they want to check the situation of producers of live stock products.

Also, IKEA has a view on animal welfare which include not only eggs but wide eange of contents. This view is also applied to IKEA in Japan.

There are monre companiers that think about animal welfare more seriously than before. However, still many people we met say that “consumers do not care about animal welfare.” “There might be no needs of companies working on animal welfare.” We citizens need to send messages that we do care about animals. We need to send more and more messages.
